Woaw Gallery is delighted to present Jon Burgerman’s first Sesame Street Collection “Friendly Neighbours” which includes more than 40 humorous artworks that reference the main cast. Opening reception will be on 24th November 5:30 - 8pm, the exhibition will be on view from 25th November - 2nd January 2023 at Harbour City Gallery by the Harbour.
Jim Henson and the creations of Sesame Street have influenced Burgerman’s life since the early 1980’s. "I would watch Sesame Street before I would go to nursery school, with a glass of milk and a slice of my mother’s chocolate cake. The characters, songs and animations left an indelible mark on my psyche, showing me that kindness and fun is something that benefits from being shared.” The iconic Sesame Street characters had introduced themselves into the world of Burgerman’s art. This exhibition features characters that evoke joy and pleasure in those who view them.
Woaw Gallery and Jon Burgerman are happy to be supporting HKBCF. 20% proceeds of the exhibition will help support blood cancer patients and their families. Souvenirs are also available to purchase at the exhibition; including 4 different doodle-styled keychains and soft plush toys.
