Mikey Yates

Mikey Yates (b. 1992, Sulzbach-Rosenberg, Germany; Lives and works in Kansas City, MO) has a BFA from Missouri State University and an MFA from the the University of Colorado, Boulder. Yates’ recent solo exhibitions include 2 Summers, COMA Gallery, Sydney AUS, Overtime, Shulamit Nazarian, Los Angeles, CA, and Boomerang, Taymour Grahne, London, UK. His work has been featured in group exhibitions at the Columbus Museum of Art, Columbus OH; The Hole, New York, NY; Shulamit Nazarian, Los Angeles, CA; Steven Zevitas Gallery, Boston MA; and 1969 Gallery, New York City, NY. His work has been featured in New American Paintings, Forbes, BOOOOOOOM!, and Juxtapoz. Yates is the recipient of several awards and residencies including the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Madison, ME; the Charlotte Street Foundation Studio Residency, Kansas City MO; and is a two time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant.
