Wong Ka Ying (b. 1990) is an artist, curator and writer based in Hong Kong. She received her BFA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2013 and obtained her M.Phil. Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2021, currently a PhD student in Cultural Studies at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Art spaces and museums such as M+, Tai Kwun Contemporary, ParaSite HK, Goethe Institut HK, Gallery Exit, Square Street Gallery have featured Wong Ka Ying's work in the past. Wong joined public programs of the Shang Hai Biennale 2019 and the Dhaka Art Summit 2020. Her works has been exhibited globally in Macau, Shen Zhen, Beijing, Shang Hai, London, New York, Zurich, Mumbai, Tokyo etc. Wong Ka Ying has been featured in articles for Art Review, Art Asia Pacific, Artnet, Artforum and Artomity. etc.
A keen observer of the art community and society, Wong critically reflects on the inclusivity and accessibility in art, cultural studies, and various social issues today through using a wide range of research and media from writings, performance to social media platform. Wong expresses passion in writing, curating and art educations. She made an outward appearance on various public sharing, seminars, panel discussion and talks, actively engaging with the communities and art lovers.
