Kara Joslyn (San Diego, CA, USA) is a painter who graduated from San Francisco’s California College of the Arts (BFA, 2008) and University of California San Diego (MFA, 2016). She was the nominee for the Robert Motherwell Foundation Master of Fine Arts Fellowship in Painting and Sculpture and awarded the MFA Graduate Teaching Fellowship. She completed her post-baccalaureate studies in painting at Columbia University School of the Arts. Joslyn had solo exhibitions at Perrotin, New York (2022); M+B Gallery, Los Angeles (2019, 2021) and Bozo Mag, Los Angeles (2019). Her solo exhibition Tragic Kingdom was an Artforum Critic’s Pick in 2019. Joslyn has had group exhibitions at Wallspace, Dubai (2021); The Hole, NYC (2020); and The Barrick Museum, Las Vegas (2017). Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego and the University of Nevada Las Vegas’s Marjorie Barrick Museum, Las Vegas.
