Melvino Garretti (b. 1946, Los Angeles, CA, USA) works predominantly in ceramics. He graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute (MFA, 1978) and was amongst the first residents of the Studio Watts Workshop, a pioneering non-profit serving artists in South Central Los Angeles. Garretti also participated in the groundbreaking Ceremony of Us (1969) workshop at the Mark Taper Forum, Los Angeles. He had a solo exhibition at the historic Brockman Gallery, Los Angeles (1984). His work has been featured in Frieze and Hyperallergic.
