Mario Ayala (b. 1991, Los Angeles, CA, USA) is a sculptor and painter using primarily acrylic and airbrush technique. He graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute (2014) and was the recipient of the Yale Norfolk Fellowship (2012). Ayala participated in the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture (2014). He has a forthcoming solo show at Jeffrey Deitch, New York (2022). He has had previous solo exhibitions, most notably at Ever Gold Projects, San Francisco (2017, 2019); Stems Gallery, Brussels (2019); Loyal Gallery, Stockholm (2018); and SADE, Los Angeles (2017). Ayala has participated in group exhibitions including the Made In LA Biennial at the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles (2020 - 2021) and at Jeffrey Deitch, Los Angeles (2021); Massimo De Carlo, London (2020); Club Pro, Los Angeles (2018); and 99¢Plus Gallery, Brooklyn (2016), to name a few. His work is in several collections including the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles and the Aïshti Foundation, Beirut.
